The Princess and The Pea
Once upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess; but she would have to be a real princess. He travelled all over the world to find one, but nowhere could he get what he wanted. There were princesses enough, but it was difficult to find out whether they were real ones. There was always something about them that was not as it should be. So he came home again and was sad, for he would have liked very much to have a real princess.

One evening a terrible storm came on; there was thunder and lightning, and the rain poured down in torrents. Suddenly a knocking was heard at the city gate, and the old king went to open it.
It was a princess standing out there in front of the gate. But, good gracious! what a sight the rain and the wind had made her look. The water ran down from her hair and clothes; it ran down into the toes of her shoes and out again at the heels. And yet she said that she was a real princess.
Well, we'll soon find that out, thought the old queen. But she said nothing, went into the bed-room, took all the bedding off the bedstead, and laid a pea on the bottom; then she took twenty mattresses and laid them on the pea, and then twenty eider-down beds on top of the mattresses.
On this the princess had to lie all night. In the morning she was asked how she had slept.
"Oh, very badly!" said she. "I have scarcely closed my eyes all night. Heaven only knows what was in the bed, but I was lying on something hard, so that I am black and blue all over my body. It's horrible!"

Now they knew that she was a real princess because she had felt the pea right through the twenty mattresses and the twenty eider-down beds.
Nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive as that.
So the prince took her for his wife, for now he knew that he had a real princess; and the pea was put in the museum, where it may still be seen, if no one has stolen it.
There, that is a true story. 1. Write moral messages from the above story!
2. Take one of your moral messages and give examples when we can apply it in our daily life!
3. Explain about the test given by the queen in order to find the real princess for her son!

example: -we say that we are smart but it will be just in the mouth if we can't proof it we must always study to proof that we are smart.
-if we want a good score, we must study hard and not cheat to our friends. :)
- we must carefully to choose someone to be our couple. if we be haphazard we will be remorse in the end.
- if there is a beautiful person. not always that person beautiful inside. we must thinking about it carefully.

b. we should see something not only from our eyes, we got to see it from our heart, because sometimes our heart can see something better than the ayes do.
c. be a hard worker, always try before giving up
d. we should be doing something not in hurry, it means we should be patient in everything we do, so we can get the best.
e. we should be care of each other.

3. the prince put the pea right through the twenty mattresses and the twenty eider-down beds because the prince want to know, when a real princess has been trained to be a good person since she was a kid, so se has a good attitude, very sensitive to everything around her, it makes, she has sincere heart in doing anything, such as : caring other person , or etc . :)

1. The moral values are:
ReplyDeletea. for the good things, we need a patient, work hard and a long time, like prince who travelled all over the world for a long time in find out a real princess.
b. we have to be patient in finishing our problem, like prince who patient in find out a real princess to be her wife by travelled all over the world, although he didn't find out a real princess yet.
c. in choosing girl or boy as wife or husband, we have to be carefully, like prince who choose a wife by give the test to find a real princess first.
d. we have to respect someone over us, like princess who willing all over her body become black and blue because mock to sleep to respect the host.
e. we have to be humble although we have richness, beauty or handsomeness, like princess who respect the other although she is rich, beauty, and smart, it reflected when princess didn't angry for bad service(not comfortable bed) as guest or princess.

"We have to be humble and respect the others although they give a bad services to us". we can apply this moral value in daily life. for example: we often asking help mother(or other persons), but we also often feel that mother's help are not satisfied, and we also complain about the service frequently too, even we get angry to mother. as a child or human as social beings who ask help to the others, we have to respect them and say "thank you" to them although the help are not satisfied.
3. Queen give the test to find a real princess for her son by lay a pea under twenty mattresses and twenty eider-down beds in the bed room which princess sleep there. and then princess can feel the pea, so she couldn't sleep well. it means that:
a. princess had a sensitive and smooth heart that can feel something easily like a real princess. it reflected when princess can feel the pea under twenty mattresses and twenty eider-down beds in the princess's bedroom.
b. princess willing her self hurt for other person or respect them over her like a real princess. it reflected when princess willing all over her body become black and blue because mock to sleep to respect the host.
c. princess is humble, didn't complain about something is bad or bad service that give to her like a real princess. it reflected when: although princess is rich as king's daughter, she didn't get angry for her slept is not well or comfortable.
by the way, queen can find that princess is a real princess who looking for by prince during this.
