One fine morning Pak Adi went into his garden. He started digging. He wanted to dig a well. He wanted to get water from the well. He wanted the water for his flowers.
He dug for several hours. Soon there was a large pile of earth. His wife saw the pile of the earth and came out of the house. “I don’t want that pile of earth in the garden,” she said. “You must move it.” “I can’t put it in the street, can I? Where can I put it?” Pak Adi asked. “I don’t know,” his wife said. “You must find a place.”
Pak Adi put down his spade and went to the next house. His neighbour and friend, Pak Joyo, lived in the next house. “Good morning,” Pak Adi said. “You have a very big garden. It’s much bigger than mine.” “Yes, it is,” Pak Joyo said. “Can I put some of my earth in it?” Pak Adi asked. “I don’t want a pile of earth in my garden,” Pak Joyo said. “Then I‘ll dig a deep hole and put the earth in the hole.” “Very well,” Pak Joyo said. “You can do that.”
Pak Adi dug a deep hole in his neighbour’s garden. Then he filled the hole with earth from his garden. Pak Joyo came out of his house. He saw a pile of earth in his garden. “I don’t want your pile of earth in my garden,” he said. “Oh, that’s not my earth,” Pak Adi said. “That’s your earth. My earth is in that hole.”

Thailand campaigns against bird flu

THAILAND : In an effort to prevent another deadly bird flu outbreak, Thai official Monday began visiting every home in 29 provinces to pass on information about oreventing the virus.
Officials started knocking on doors in what the authorities call “the red zpne” to explain to locals how to protect themselves if they discover dead poultry, Charal Trinvuthipong, assistant to Adricultural Minister, told AFP.
Thailand on Saturday reported its 16th bird flu death. It was the kingdom`s second fatality this year and followed by new that 300,000 chickens were slaughtered to stem a new outbreak in the nortilast—AFP.

The bomb, in the resort of Kuta, destroyed the Sari Club and crowded night spot. Many people have fallen victims to this blast. Many of the were foreign tourist, especially from Australia. They were burned beyond recognition. Some tourist who were  at the scene of the blast said there were to explosions around the night club. One bomb had exploded outside paddy’s Bar before a car bomb hit the Sari Club which was located some metres away Hundreds were injured in the explosions and about 220 Australians remain unaccounted for the UK Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, said that 33 Britons were among those killed in the Bali attack. The Australian Prime Minister, John Howard called on Indonesia to do more to fight terrorism within its borders, saying it had been a problem for a long time.
Lists of missing people have been posted in Bali and officials said that it could take days to identify all the victims, some of whom were trapped in the Sari Club by a wall of flames. A notice board at the hospital in Bali includes a section called a “Unknown Identity” and detailed lists on victims such as : “Young girl in intensive care, 11-14 years old face burned, income, Caucasian, “or” GIRL in intensive care, about 5 years old, 130 cm, fair skin, Caucasian with reddish brown hair. She has a purplish belly button ring.”
Many embassies, including the British and the American, are advising their people to cancel spending their planned holidays in Indonesia and all U.S. citizens in the country have been told to leave including diplomats and non-essential government staff.

Elephants
Elephants are the largest land animals alive today. These animals have special body characteristics, among them are tusks and trunk.
Elephant’s tusks are made of a hard, white substance like bone. When an elephant is angry, its trunk can be very dangerous. The tusks of elephants are actually its front teeth. People pay  a lot of money for the ivory of an elephant’s tusk. The ivory from the tusks is made into many beautiful things.
The trunk of an elephant is s fusion of the nose and upper lip. An elephant uses its trunk in many ways. It pulls up trees with trunk when it wants to make a path through the jungle. It also uses its trunk to get water. The trunk can hold a lot of water, as an elephant needs to drink three hundreds pints of water every day.

Venice
Venice is a city in northern Italy, the capital of region Venote. Together with Padua, the city is included in the Padua-venice Metropolitan area. Venice is also nicknamed as “Queen of the Adriatic”, “City of water”, “City of Bridges”, and “The City of Light.”
With the population of 271,251, the city etretches across 117 small islands in the marshy Benetian ogoon along the Adriatic Sea in north-ast Italy. Is X-ray examination necessary?
            Students, do you know that there are many opinions concerning the use of x-ray and others don’t agree to the use of x-ray.
            Well, some people agree that x-ray examination is beneficial. They say that doctors should use x-ray in examining a severe illness. If doctors don’t use the x-ray, they will miss some important information which is very useful in making a diagnose on the patient’s disease. And this will sometimes cause the doctor inaccurate in prescribing the medicine to cure the illness.
            Not all patients agree with the use of x-ray examination, however. They think that using x-ray examination will cost them a lot of money. That’s really true. Another reason is the radiation of x-ray has some risk to the body tissues.
            Well, as a result of this controversy, many people are planning a traditional health cure to avoid the high cost of hospital care. Whereas hospitals insist on having x-ray examinations on patients to get an accurate diagnose although the cost is very high.

            One mystery about elephant that seems to have been solved is how elephants communicate with each other. Humans have heard a whole variety of sounds coming from elephants, but these sounds are not the only way that elephants communicate.
            A new explanation about elephant communication is being proposed. Elephants vibrate the air in their trunks and foreheads. The sound that is created during this vibration has an extremely low pitch; the pitch, in fact, is so low that humans cannot hear it. However, it seems that other elephants can and do hear and understand these low rumblings.
